In the upcoming holidays, friends, you can visit a beautiful offbeat location called "Pahar Vanga" near Kolkata if you love mountains but don't have much time to travel to places like Darjeeling. This place is located in the neighboring state of Jharkhand, which is just a 4-hour train journey from Kolkata.




At Pahar Vanga, you'll find the Golpahadi Temple, which is known for making wishes come true. To reach the temple, you'll need to climb about 1500 steps. It's believed that prayers at this temple fulfill your desires. From here, you'll have a fantastic view of the picturesque Jamshedpur area.


The temple is located on top of a mountain shaped like a round hill, which is why it's called Golpahadi Temple. When you visit this place, you'll also see a lush green forest all around. The combination of the clear blue sky and the forest creates a unique and beautiful scenery that's not easy to find.


This place is popular with locals for picnics. If you visit after the rainy season, you'll see a different kind of beauty. In spring, the entire area turns red because of the Palash trees. From here, you can also go to the Runkini Devi Temple, which is one of the many Kali temples in Jharkhand. This temple is situated in the middle of the jungle.


To get to Pahar Vanga, you first need to reach Tatanagar Station. You can take a train to Tatanagar from Howrah. From Tatanagar, you can hire a car or an auto to reach Pahar Vanga. It's a fantastic place to experience the charm of the mountains without traveling too far from Kolkata.
